QMHPs are licensed staff that have a mental health background in crisis assessments. They can determine the level of care for a patient in crisis. Telepsychiatry provides consultation, recommends level of care, medication adjustments and/or starting patients on medications. Telepsychiatry communicates with the QMHP and ordering provider their recommended level of care.
