SHELTER OUTREACH

BJC Behavioral Health’s Shelter Outreach team provides outreach to homeless individuals living in emergency shelters and other locations not intended for habitation. The mission of the Shelter Outreach team is to locate homeless individuals experiencing mental illness who are not engaged in mental health care. The team outreaches to these individuals to identify immediate needs, provide resources and facilitate the process of mental health care. BJC Behavioral Health’s Shelter Outreach team is a member of the St. Louis City Continuum of Care, and is supported by state and federal PATH funds. As a member of the Continuum of Care and PATH provider, Shelter Outreach participates in HMIS, whose Privacy and Security Notice is available here. The outreach team’s goal is to identify and assist those individuals who are most vulnerable on the streets and in shelters, by providing support, necessary resources and addressing their overall health needs.
